Book Reading and Signing

Author Beth Bricker Davis

will read from and sign copies of her newly released book

“Finding Our Way: Moving Forward After the Death of a Husband,”

Davis is retired from the social work field but has been writing most of her life. She is an avid nature and animal lover, volunteers at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center, and plays violin in an amateur string ensemble, Sunday Strings, which she co-founded in 2001.

“Finding Our Way: Moving Forward After the Death of a Husband” is a compilation of stories by

eight beautifully courageous widows, seven of whom live in Pueblo, Colorado: Alicia Bourdon- Goure, Beth Bricker Davis, Joyce Turbyfill, Kathy Trujillo, Lou Mercer, Marla Carleo and Shirley B. Higgins. The eighth woman, Nancy P. Tyndall, is a 91-year-old, twice-widowed friend who lives in hometown of Richmond, Indiana. Davis created the compilation of stories to demonstrate the different, yet effective, ways people grieve and to offer support and validation to anyone who has experienced loss, especially widows. Davis hopes the experiences shared in the unique stories will help grievers feel less alone. Other books by Davis include “Aspen Leaves in October: Poems of Life, Love, and Loss” and “Lean In: Poems of the Heart.”
